Terms

Bingo has its own language which may be confusing for beginners. Why make things more complicated? Because it’s funnier of course and it lowers the game tension. Slang terms are used both for numbers and for the game rules and expressions. It can be a little intimidating for someone who hasn’t played this game before but most online casinos provide players with a helping glossary. Nevertheless, when it comes to the “real deal”, when you play outside an Internet network it is essential you know this game code.

The list of terms should definitely begin with jackpot which means the biggest prize in the bingo game. Furthermore, the following terms are also often used:

  • Market Bingo-as the name suggests, in this type of game you play for different kind of objects and also for vouchers
  • Early bird-a shorter game in most cases, played prior to the main game
  • Admission packet-a packet consisting of three to eight cards for a game which a player must buy in order to enter the game. It can be regarded as a game admission fee.
  • Auto-purchase- it’s an expression used in the online gambling and it is a program which automatically buys new cards for the player at the beginning of a game.
  • Basket-bingo- a type of game in which the prize consists of goods previously put in a basket.
  • Money ball- a winning number drawn at the beginning of the game and that brings a special prize to the lucky player who has this number on the bingo card.
  • Payout-After collecting its admission, the Bingo Room has to pay a certain amount of money from the profits.
  • Progressive Jackpot- a prize that grows larger as the days pass until it is eventually won.
  • Pattern-a graphic shape that players must cover with chips or markers on a card in order to gain; example: Four Corners (the player must cover the corner numbers).

Other slang terms refer to the objects in the room such as:

  • Front house-the front door desk
  • Bingo Board-an electronic display which shows the winning number

When the Bingo Caller says:”Eyes down” a player should know that the game has begun. Also they should know that "Wait" is a code word for the only number needed to complete a pattern and win the game.

As if things weren’t complicated enough, bingo numbers have their own nicknames like:
